Using the mobile network connection and the server

Tip: It is recommended that the Jellox Pulse is first placed into operation in the office before mounting the device permanently at the place of use. During this process, you should create a site for the later operation on the myDatanet server (see Creating the site) and determine a site configuration (see Site configuration). Take the opportunity to get to know the functions of the device in a stable environment. You can also use suitable test signals to simulate the meters and digital contacts to establish the optimum configuration of the Jellox Pulse prior to its actual first use. This reduces the amount of time required for on-site installation to a minimum.

How-To-Video: Commissioning the system

The following work should be completed in the office before you go to the future location of the device:

  1. If necessary, create a customer on the myDatanet server (see "myDatanet Server Manual " 805002).
  2. Within the selected customer, create a site/application for operation of the Jellox Pulse on the myDatanet server (see Creating the site).
  3. Configure the created site/application according to your requirements (see Site configuration).
  4. The following step is only required for the variant with external antenna connector (Type key D022‑4Z001200D05):
  5. Connect the antenna (see Connecting the mobile network antenna (only with D022‑4Z001200D05)). The antenna is not included in the scope of supply and must be ordered separately.
Tip: You can also skip this and the following three steps as a transmission must also be triggered during installation on site, which transfers the configuration settings to the Jellox Pulse at that time.
  6. If the Jellox Pulse should remain deactivated up to the installation on the operation site, select "Deactivated" in the title bar of the configuration section "Measurement system" (see Measurement system).
  7. Trigger a connection using the reed switch (see Reed switch). On the display the symbol for the "state of the mobile network connection" should then start flickering to indicate the connection establishment (see Display). During this connection, the configuration of the site is transmitted to the Jellox Pulse .
Tip: If "Active" is selected in the title bar of the configuration section "Measurement system", the Jellox Pulse switches to active mode as soon as a connection to the myDatanet server has been established. The Jellox Pulse will then resume operation according to the configuration settings.
Tip: You can also skip this step, as a transmission must also be triggered during installation on site, which transfers the configuration settings to the Jellox Pulse at that time.

  8. The following step is only required for the variant with external antenna connector (Type key D022‑4Z001200D05).
  9. Remove the antenna again.
  10. The following tasks are to be completed directly at the deployment site of the device:
  11. Complete all of the steps detailed in the chapter Connecting the meters and the digital contacts. For the variant with the external antenna connector (Type key D022‑4Z001200D05), you also need to connect the antenna (see Connecting the mobile network antenna (only with D022‑4Z001200D05)).
Important: Initiating a transmission is one of the last steps in chapter Connecting the meters and the digital contacts. If you intend to install the Jellox Pulse in an inspection chamber, the transmission should be triggered when the device is still located outside the inspection chamber.
  12. Ensure that "Active" is selected in the title bar of the confiuration section "Measurement system" (see Measurement system).
  13. Configure the basic settings via the "Channel settings" input screen (see Inputs in "Counter" mode) and adjust the meter reading via the wizard "set meter reading" (see Set meter reading) for all measurement channels operated in "Counter" mode suitably for the meter connected to the respective measurement channel.
Note: An active connection between the Jellox Pulse and the myDatanet server is required to set the meter readings.
  14. Initiate a connection using the reed switch to transmit the configuration of the site to the Jellox Pulse (see Reed switch).
  15. If you intend to install the Jellox Pulse in an inspection chamber, please ensure that the device can establish a mobile network connection in its final mounting position with the inspection chamber closed before leaving the installation site. The wizard to complete the "Guided commissioning" can be used for this purpose (see "Guided commissioning" input screen). It carries out several measurements of mobile signal strength and, based on the results, provides an assessment of signal quality.
