Troubleshooting and repair

General problems

Problem Cause/solution
Device does not respond (nothing appears on the display).
  • Battery pack is completely discharged
Communication problems (between Jellox Node and myDatanet server)
  • Evaluate the error code shown on the display (see Display).
  • Use the "OnSite Companion" smartphone app to synchronise the device log with the myDatanet server and open the device log on the myDatanet server.
  • The capacity of the battery pack is virtually depleted.
Synchronisation between device and server not possible via the "OnSite Companion" smartphone app
  • Reduce the distance between the Jellox Node and the smartphone and try to avoid obstacles such as walls and similar.
  • Check the internet connection of the smartphone
  • Check whether the most recent version of the "OnSite Companion" app is installed on the smartphone "OnSite Companion"
  • The capacity of the battery pack is virtually depleted.
Setup mode cannot be activated
  • Evaluate the error code shown on the display (see Display).
  • Use the "OnSite Companion" smartphone app to synchronise the device log with the myDatanet server and open the device log on the myDatanet server.
  • The capacity of the battery pack is virtually depleted.
Status information on the sensor modules is not displayed
  • When creating the site, the myDatanet server was unable to determine which sensors/actuators are assigned to the remote measurement channels. Solution: Activate setup mode or wait for the next cyclical transmission.
Not all or no data is available on the server.
  • The connection was aborted during the transmission, which is indicated by a time-out entry in the connection list (see "myDatanet Server Manual " 805002). Solution: Activate setup mode or wait for the next cyclical transmission
  • The assignment of the device and site is not correct (see Site or Creating the site).
  • The measurement data and configurations have not been synchronised between the Jellox Node and the myDatanet server using the "OnSite Companion" smartphone app (only relevant, if no suitable mobile network coverage is available at the operating site of the Jellox Node )
Communication problems (between Jellox Node and sensor module)
  • Reduce the distance between the Jellox Node and the sensor module, and try to avoid obstacles such as walls and similar
  • The capacity of the battery of the sensor module is virtually depleted. Check on the display the number of remaining days until the next time the battery needs to be replaced (see Display).
  • The Jellox Node has lost the connection to the sensor module and was unable to re-establish it immediately. Solution:
    • Wait until the Jellox Node tries to re-establish the connection. For the benefit of low energy consumption, this is only done every 2 hours.
    • Activate setup mode (see Setup mode) to manually initiate the search for remote sensors.
Water level is not plausible.
  • Check the values for "Installation height" and "trimming" (module type "Radar")/ for "offset" and "trimming" (module type "Gauge") currently saved in the sensor module.
  • Check whether the values for "Installation height" and "trimming" (module type "Radar")/ for "offset" and "trimming" (module type "Gauge") correspond to the current installation situation.
  • The capacity of the battery of the sensor module is virtually depleted.
  • Information on further possible error sources and corresponding solution approaches are provided in chapter "Troubleshooting and repair" in the manual of the relevant sensor module.
Surface velocity is not plausible.
  • Check the values for "Mounting angle" and "Direction" currently saved in the sensor module.
  • Check whether the values for "Mounting angle" and "Direction" correspond to the current installation situation.
  • The capacity of the battery of the sensor module is virtually depleted.
  • Information on further possible error sources and corresponding solution approaches are provided in chapter "Troubleshooting and repair" in the manual of the relevant sensor module.
Alarm state of a measurement value was not detected.
  • Increase the measuring interval (see Device settings ). Note: Only the interval for recording the internal measurement values can be adjusted. The interval for recording the measurement values of the remote sensor modules is 10 sec. and cannot be changed.
Alarm state was not transferred although the data is present.
  • Check the confiurations of the "Smart actions" (see Edit Smart Action)
  • The connection was aborted during the transmission, which is indicated by a time-out entry in the connection list (see "myDatanet Server Manual " 805002). Solution: Activate setup mode or wait for the next cyclical transmission.
Alarm message was not sent although the alarm was signalled.
  • Check the settings of the alarm schedule (see "myDatanet Server Manual " 805002).
  • Check the address data of the alarm schedule (see "myDatanet Server Manual " 805002).
