Powered by mains adapter

This supply concept is particlularly suitable if an energy source is already available at the installation site. When installing measuring device, it is important to note that all metallic mounting fixtures have to be included in the earthing concept of the existing installation in a suitable manner and that the earthing connection of the myDatalogEASY IoT ATEX is connected to the ground potential of the existing installation (see Connection of the sensors and power supply).

The following components are required to implement the supply concept:

  • Power supply 24V 0,63A for top-hat rail mounting (301066)
  • Connection cable 2-pins for supply 5m (301192)
  • PSU DC (300529)

The PSU DC (300529) features an integrated protective circuit to prevent interference and fluctuations in the supply voltage, making it particularly suitable for use in industrial environments. Detailed information on the PSU DC is provided in chapter Technical details about the energy supply.

The myDatalogEASY IoT ATEX may only be operated in areas with a zone 2 explosive atmosphere. Using the "Connection cable 2-pins for supply 5m ", the myDatalogEASY IoT ATEX is connected to the mains adapter (e.g. "Power supply 24V 0,63A for top-hat rail mounting "), which is located outside the area with explosive atmosphere.

Important: When using an external power supply, measures must be taken externally to the device to provide transient protection (in accordance with EN 60079-7), ensuring that the maximum permissible operating voltage is not exceeded by more than 40%. This requirement is met by the "Connection cable 2-pins for supply 5m " (301192).
Important: The connection point between the "Connection cable 2-pins for supply 5m " and the mains adapter always has to be outside the area with a zone 2 explosive atmosphere.

The sensors however may be operated in areas with a zone 0, zone 1 or zone 2 explosive atmosphere, provided they are approved for the relevant zone. As each of the two universal inputs has its own independent zener barrier, the senors with mA interface may also be operated in different zones.
