Ex protection

The measurement system myDatalogEASY IoT ATEX consists of a myDatalogEASY IoT ATEX with installed IoT application "myDatalogEASY IoT ATEX" and is designed for use in areas with a zone 2 explosive atmosphere. Thanks to the zener barriers integrated in the device (see Technical details about the energy supply), sensors located in areas with a zone 0, zone 1 or zone 2 explosive atmosphere may also be connected to the universal inputs. The sensors must of course be approved for the respective zone.

The following conditions must be observed:

  • During installation of the device and any components connected to the device, it must be ensured that the requirements for planning, selection, construction and initial inspection of electrical installations in areas with explosive atmosphere as per IEC 60079-14 are met.
  • Only the manufacturer's original spare parts must be used.
  • During installation, it must be ensured that the device is protected against light (e.g. day light, artificial lighting) and it must be installed in such a way that the light resistance requirements as per IEC60079-0 are met.
  • The installation must be executed in such a way that there is no risk of ignition caused by electrostatic charges during intended use, maintenance and cleaning.
  • The device may only be mounted or installed if no explosive atmosphere is present. It must be ensured that the protection level (voltage), clearances, isolation distances, creepage distances and comparative tracking index are adhered to.
  • Do not separate the connectors, when energized or when there may be an explosive atmosphere.
  • When using an external supply or charging voltage, measures must be implemented outside the device to ensure transient protection (as per EN 60079-7) that will ensure the maximum permissible operating voltage is not exceeded by more than 40%. This requirement is met with the "2-pin connection cable for supply, 5 m" (301192) (see Cable).
  • The housing may only be opened if no explosive atmosphere is present.
  • The device may only be operated with power supply units PSU413D+ AP, PSU713 BP or PSU DC.
  • The power supply unit may only be replaced if no explosive atmosphere is present.
  • Only the antennas, tested and approved by the manufacturer, may be connected to the antenna connectors (see Antennas).
  • Possible danger of electrostatic discharge build-up - clean the device with a moist or electrostatically dissipative cloth.
  • A mounting distance of min. 50 mm must be maintained on all sides to prevent any soiling.
  • The device may only be installed in an environment that meets contamination level 2 or lower in accordance with EN 60664-1.

Important: The Ex approval is only valid if the corresponding marking is provided on the type plate of the myDatalogEASY IoT ATEX .
Important: The certificates of conformity and any relevant test certificates from the respective authorities must be carefully observed during installation and commissioning.
