Technical details about the inputs

4 inputs are available to which a meter contact can be connected without an additional energy supply.

Important: The Jellox Pulse has only one common grounding connection for all inputs. If multiple counter or digital contacts are connected to the Jellox Pulse and these are not potential free contacts (i.e. open collector or open drain ouptus for example), the earth potentials are joined.

Schematic diagram of an input

Uout max 3,3 V
Iout max 317 µA
Ri 10k5
Rload max 6 k
Cload max 10 nF

The following conditions must be observed for the pulses to be detected correctly:

Low< 1,2 V
High> 1,9 V
Pulse length>1 ms

Inputs in "digital" mode

The signal at the input is checked once per second so that the system can react to level changes as quickly as possible. To save energy, the output voltage Uout is only ever applied to the internal resistor Ri for 1 ms .

Inputs in "Counter" mode

To ensure that the pulses can be detected at all times, the output voltage Uout is continuously applied to the internal resistor Ri. However, reliable detection of the pulses requires a pulse length of >1 ms. If a counter output is closed for more than 2 sec. , it is assumed that the output is blocked. In this case, to save energy, the output voltage Uout is no longer applied to the internal resistor Ri continuously, but only every second for 1 ms . The system then checks whether the meter output is still blocked.
