Connecting the sensors

Important:
  • Ensure installation is completed correctly.
  • Comply with existing legal and/or operational directives.
  • Improper handling can cause injuries and/or damage to the instruments.
  • Run all data and power cables so that they do not pose a trip hazard and ensure that cables do not have any sharp bends.
  • Current and data cables must not exceed a lenght of 30 m.
  • The Lizzox Pure Flood must not be operated in the field with the terminal compartment covers open.
  • To ensure the housing is properly sealed, each of the three cable screw connections must only hold a single cable.

  1. Remove the four screws that secure the terminal compartment cover on the rear. Then open the Lizzox Pure Flood .
    Important: In the event of adverse weather conditions including rain or in a location where water can penetrate from above, suitable measures must be implemented to protect the device from penetrating moisture when the terminal compartment cover is open.
  2. Then connect your sensors with the universal inputs and the RS485 interface.
    Important: Only a single cable must be threaded through the cable screw connections to ensure the seal of the housing is not jeopardised.
    Tip: The following applies when connecting sensors to the RS485 interface: Use a shielded twisted pair cable to prevent electromagnetic interference caused by the environment. The total length of the cables connecting the Modbus servers must not exceed 30 m. It is advisable to use a multi-core cable in which data and power lines can be routed together. When connecting multiple Modbus servers, only a bus structure is permitted. Stubs or star and tree topologies are not permitted.
  3. Tighten the cable screw connections to secure the cables.
  4. Affix blind plugs to all of the cable glands that are not required.
    Important: All unused cable glands on the Lizzox Pure Flood must be sealed watertightly using the blind plugs supplied. Otherwise the degree of protection for the entire device is not guaranteed and the manufacturer's warranty is void.
  5. Ensure that "active" mode is selected in the title bar of the configuration section "Measurement system" of the site linked to the device (see Measurement system).
  6. Trigger a transmission using the solenoid switch (see Solenoid switch). The status LED should then start to flicker (see Status LED), indicating that a connection is being established.
    Tip: If the Lizzox Pure Flood is set to "Deactivated", it switches to "Active" mode as soon as the connection to the myDatanet server has been established. The device then starts to operate in accordance with the configuration.
  7. The following step is not mandatory.
  8. Check whether the connection to the myDatanet server has worked correctly (see Testing communication with the device).
  9. Close the terminal compartment cover on the rear. The best option is to tighten all four of the screws crosswise (torque: 0,5 Nm), so that the housing compartment cover is positioned evenly.
    Important: Ensure that the seals are clean and intact before closing the terminal compartment cover. Remove any impurities and/or dirt. The manufacturer shall not be liable for any damage to the device caused by leaky or faulty seals.
  10. Check that the terminal compartment cover is positioned correctly on all sides and that no foreign materials have been trapped between the terminal compartment and the terminal compartment cover.
    Important: The manufacturer shall not liable for any damage that is caused by terminal compartment covers that are not closed correctly.
